Born in Santiago, Chile, Cote de Pablo moved to Miami, Florida at the age of ten and studied musical theater at Arriva Middle School. She continued her musical theater studies at Carnegie Mellon University. After graduation, De Pablo moved to New York and worked in an Italian deli to support herself as she pursued her acting career. She quickly transitioned from the stage to roles on All My Children, The Jury, and The Education of Max Bickford.  In 2005, after a short stint as Dolores Fuentes in the Broadway play The Mambo Kings, De Pablo landed the role of Special Agent (former Israeli Mossad Liaison Officer) Ziva David on NCIS.
