What a scary way to end the season! We heard a while back that NeNe Leakes had been experiencing some health issues that landed her in the hospital. And on tonight’s Season 6 finale of Real Housewives of Atlanta, we finally found out what symptoms have been plaguing our fave Atlanta gal.

NeNe turns to her man Gregg for a little support, as she’s feeling under the weather. “Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of traveling to L.A. and New York, and it’s definitely taking a toll on my body,” she admits to the Bravo cameras.

“This pain’s so weird,” NeNe tells her hubby. “It’s under my right breast, on my side, and in my back.” Yikes!

At first, Gregg hilariously makes light of the situation, pouring his wife a glass of water and suggesting that it’s just a little bout of gas. “I get those pains all the time!” he jokes. Oh Gregg, you slay us.

But he soon realizes it might be more serious than just a little case of the toots.

“If you don’t think it’s gas… then we need to go get you looked at,” he says, looking quite concerned.

Cut to: Kandi talking to the rest of the Housewives at the debut of A Mother’s Love, bemoaning the fact that NeNe couldn’t make it. “She called me and told me they are admitting her in the hospital,” Cynthia Bailey reveals, causing Kandi to react the same way we did: “Are you serious?!”

During her one-on-one special with Andy Cohen following the finale, NeNe clarified exactly what her health problems amounted to. She said that the doctors told her, “you have blood clots in your lungs” aka pulmonary embolisms. “My right lung had collapsed and my left lung had partially collapsed,” the RHoA star elaborated. Serious stuff!

Luckily, we know NeNe is now more than OK, as she rumbas her way into America’s hearts on Dancing With the Stars, but we’re still curious to find out what exactly was going on.
