Just last week, confirmed co-host for The View Rosie O’Donnell publicly declared that NeNe Leakes would make a great addition to The View — which is currently searching for co-hosts to fill the vacant spots — but does Ro have a clause in her contract that would prevent NeNe from joining the show?
According to the video from ET above, Rosie has a clause in her contract that bans reality stars from The View as a result of her very public feud with former Survivor competitor-turned-talking head Elisabeth Hasselbeck. This would mean NeNe’s dreams of co-hosting would never come to fruition, and she’s not happy about it.
“I would be kind of disappointed to hear that she’s like, ‘I don’t want any reality stars,’ when there was once upon a time when she and I hosted Anderson’s show together and she really was like, ‘I would love to do a talk show with you,’” NeNe explains.
She continues, “I don’t know why she would say such a thing, but everybody has their ideas about reality stars. The good thing about this, Rosie, is that NeNe Leakes is not just a reality star, I am a mogul, I am an actress, I am a producer, I am clothing designer. So there you have it, Rosie!”
Luckily for the Real Housewives of Atlanta star, this “clause” in Rosie’s contract seems to be completely bogus. From what we can tell, Rosie’s pro-NeNe tweet from last week may have actually been in response to this piece. In other words, we doubt there’s any bad blood between Ro and NeNe.
Not surprisingly, NeNe is psyched at the the prospect of joining The View, though it doesn’t sound like they’ve made her an offer just yet. “I would love to do a talk show one day; that’s definitely on my bucket list. I already work with five or six women, so I know how that can be,” NeNe dished with a laugh. “So working on The View is probably like working on Housewives. I would love to get in there and chop it up with those girls.”
