Adele Wins Six Grammys, Ties Beyonce for Most Wins by a Woman
America is majorly in love with British singer Adele, awarding the songstress six Grammys, one for every category in which she was nominated. The “Someone Like You” singer’s acceptance speeches got increasingly more adorable as the evening progressed, punctuated by giggling and “fank you” and gushing about her “mum.”
Taking the stage to accept the monumental show-ending album of the year award, Adele looked at the camera and said, “I just first want to say 'Mom, girl did good.’” We’ll say! There is only one other female singer who’s netted six Grammys in one evening — Beyonce.
Adele won Grammys in the following categories:
- Best pop solo performance for “Someone Like You”
- Best short form music video for “Rolling in the Deep”
- Best pop vocal album for 21
- Record of the year for “Rolling in the Deep”
- Album of the year for 21
- Song of the year for “Rolling in the Deep”
