American Horror Story Season 2 Spoiler: James Cromwell Joining For Major Role?
Rounding out the already star-studded cast of American Horror Story Season 2 may be Oscar nominee and Six Feet Under alum James Cromwell, who Deadline reports is in negotiations “for a big 10-episode arc opposite star Jessica Lange.”
As we know, Season 2 is set in an East Coast institution for the criminally insane, and will take place in the 1970s. Jessica Lange will play the woman in charge of running the loony bin, and Season 1 alumnae Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Zachary Quinto, and Sarah Paulson will all play different characters on the show for Season 2.
Chloe Sevigny is reportedly in talks to play Shelly the Nymphomaniac; Adam Levine will play one half of “The Lovers,” the other half of which is still uncast. And French actress Lizzie Brochere, “known for NC-17 films in France,” will play Gia, an “antagonist” for Jessica Lange’s character. There is reportedly still a part up for grabs, known as The Most Beautiful Boy in the World.
James Cromwell’s rumored character will be Dr. Arden, “who works at the institution and goes head-to-head with his boss [Jessica],” reports Deadline. We can already sense the amazing potential for chemistry between those two, both lauded actors with decades of experience playing twisted characters.
The Season 2 premiere can’t come fast enough!
