Jay-Z may have 99 problems, but upstaging Beyonce ain't one.
Beyonce performed her smash hit "Crazy in Love" during the Super Bowl halftime show on February 3, which husband Jay-Z had decided at the last minute to not perform onstage with her, according to Us Weekly.
Instead, a recorded version of Jay-Z's rap in the song was played during the show.
So why did Jay-Z back out?
"He wanted that to be her moment and didn't want to take away from it," explains a source. "She had been working her ass off." Aww! Is that true love or what?
Instead, the rapper was backstage and watched the performance with their 12-month-old daughter, Blue Ivy. That sounds pretty darn cute to us.
Two people who did join Beyonce during her set were her two former Destiny's Child bandmates, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.
The source reveals that the reunited girl group had been planning to perform "Bills, Bills, Bills" and their new single "Nuclear," but those two tunes were cut at the eleventh hour.
If you ask us, Beyonce killed it, and we wouldn't want her to have changed a thing!
