Cameron Diaz was never what you'd call an ugly duckling, but as her tall, slender body heads toward 40 — which she’ll hit this August — it’s looking better and better.

"I love getting older," Cameron told Access Hollywood while plugging her May 18 film What to Expect When You’re Expecting. "As I get older, I become happier — because I’m wiser, I know myself better [and] I connect to people better,” she explained. "I think that in our society we don’t honor older generations enough because we think of it as being bad because the appearance changes."

It does help that her own appearance is just improving.

"My ass is definitely higher than it was when I was 20," Cameron said. "This is the thing that people don’t understand — take care of your body [and it will] get better! It gets better as I get older. Absolutely."

Easy for a gorgeous model/actress to say, although she is great inspiration — she has wise perspective and she doesn't look fake and plastic like so many other SoCal Barbie dolls. Go Cam!
