Channing Tatum Producing Magic Mike Musical For Summer 2013: Will You Watch?
Finally! Some ass with class on Broadway.
We’re already giddy about the second Magic Mike movie coming down the pike, but there’s also the Broadway musical to consider.
According to Ticket News, the musical adaptation is planned to debut in the summer of 2013. The film’s star, Channing Tatum, and director Steven Soderbergh will produce alongside Reid Carolin, Gregory Jacobs, and Nick Wechsler. Reid Carolin, Channing’s partner in Iron Horse Entertainment, wrote the Magic Mike screenplay and is reportedly scheduled to write the book for the Broadway musical.
It’s not clear yet if Channing, Joe Manganiello, Matt Bomer, Matthew McConaughey, Alex Pettyfer and company will star in the Broadway show or if there will be a whole new cast. Channing has said "I'd need a lot of singing lessons." It’d be worth it! And it’s not like anyone would really be going to this show for the stellar vocals.
Would you watch Magic Mike the Musical without Channing and the original cast?
