Close Call! Bobby Brown Avoids Jail for His Recent DUI
It looks like Bobby Brown's most recent prerogative was avoiding jail time. As the result of a plea deal from last month's DUI charge, he received three years probation and one day in jail, but he got credit for time already served. He was also hit with a $390 fine.
The ex-husband of Whitney Houston — who scored his biggest hit in the early '90s with the song "My Prerogative" — was pulled over in California on March 26 for talking on his cell phone before failing a sobriety test. Bobby was married to Whitney for 14 years, and this latest arrest came a mere 4 days after her autopsy results were released, so it's understandable that he was having a rough time.
This is not the first run-in with the law for Bobby, who has battled drug and alcohol addictions. He was arrested in Georgia in 2004 for a parole violation related to a previous drunk-driving conviction.
In related (and happier) news, Glee paid tribute to the music of Whitney Houston on Tuesday's episode.
