Wendy's Meaghan Martin at the Los Angeles Film Festival.
Adorable starlet Meaghan Martin is best known for her part as Bianca on the short-lived television series 10 Things I Hate About You. Recently, she's taken up a new role: Playing the iconic Wendy Darling in Alloy's modern retelling of Peter Pan, Wendy.
Wetpaint Entertainment recently had a chance to talk to the beautiful blonde. This is Part 2 of our interview, where we get to know Meagan outside of her role on the web series (see Part 1 for much more on Wendy). Read on to find out what it was like to work with Pretty Little Liars' Tyler Blackburn (Caleb Rivers), Meaghan's guilty TV pleasure, and her hilarious Halloween plans.
Wetpaint Entertainment: What was it like to work with Tyler Blackburn on Wendy?
Meaghan Martin: It was great. Tyler is very sweet. There was a lot of laughter. He cracks me up, he's very funny. We were just kind of joking around with each other a lot. It was fun. It was nice to have him be my Peter Pan.
Is there anything that you can't live without on set?
Food and water [laughs]. My lines? I would say food, water, and they give you these things that are the scenes that you're shooting that day, in a mini-version. The pages are mini, the typing is mini, and you just carry those around with you. I could not live without those. I'm also notorious for losing them. I go through like ten sets a day, which is really awful for the environment. I need to make sure to carry my iPad so I digitally do it, and I don't lose it.
Who are your acting inspirations?
Jessica Chastain is a huge inspiration of mine currently, I have a weird obsession with her. As well as Anne Hathaway — I've always really idolized her. Marion Cotillard, Emma Stone. I love when actresses can take on any sort of role, where they walk in and play every type of character.
Do you have a dream role?
I just want to work! That's my ultimate goal, to continue to be employed. Ideally I would be able to cover all sorts of genres, all sorts of characters. But at the end of the day, a job is a beautiful thing.
Do you have any favorite TV shows?
Yes! 30 Rock is my favorite TV show ever. I also have a weakness for Dance Moms on Lifetime. I shouldn't be supporting stuff like that, but [laughs]. I also really like Teen Mom, so I guess anything with "Mom" in the title, and 30 Rock.
It's slightly early, but do you know what you're being for Halloween yet?
I do! It's so not early. My apartment is entirely decorated already. That's how weird I am about holidays. There's been a lot of discussion. At first my best friend was going to be Jessie from Toy Story, and I was going to be Bo Peep, but now we're talking about being the characters from Dance Moms, and that's probably what we're going to end up doing.
Do you have a favorite Holiday?
Christmas, always Christmas. But I do love Halloween and Thanksgiving. My my older sister and one of my best friends' birthdays are both on Halloween, so it's always been a big day.
Do you have a favorite candy?
Oh yes! Buncha Crunch is my all time favorite, and I also love sour Skittles.
