Another day, another Fifty Shades of Grey casting rumor! This one comes from Now magazine in the U.K. — yeah, it's a tabloid, but they talked to Niall Leonard, husband of Fifty Shades author E.L. James. That at least makes us curious.
Niall told the site that, last he heard, Ryan Gosling was set to play the lead role of Christian Grey. It's possible what Niall said was misunderstood, especially since the words about Ryan aren't posted in a direct quote, but it's not like Ry-guy's name has never come up before.
Niall did give Now some quotes about the character of Christian not being based on him. "I'm glad I'm not him because he's actually damaged," Niall said. "I wouldn't have liked to go through what he went through."
How do you feel about another casting rumor with Ryan's name involved? Do you believe it? Is he right for the role? He'd give the film some A-list push and credibility, if nothing else.
