UPDATE: The original story said Sarah Jessica Parker's assistant was accused, but TMZ was contacted by one of SJP's reps, who said the alleged thief was not SJP's assistant or on her payroll, but was traveling as part of Sarah's entourage, since they were all involved with the Nobel Peace Prize. Sarah actually had to get on a later flight, they say.
Doesn't "duty free" mean it's not your duty to pay?
According to TMZ, a United flight from Oslo, Norway, to New York City was delayed for an hour today because someone in Sarah Jessica Parker's
assistant entourage was accused of stealing a pair of expensive sunglasses. Sarah and crew were ready to board the plane when cops, who were called in by the airport shop owner, blocked the person from boarding. A fine of $1,400 was reportedly paid on the spot and then the plane took off.
So those were some pretty expensive shades — although it's not clear if that's what the original price was or the price plus a had-to-track-you-down fee.
