Things might not be quite so desperate for Devious Maids after all.
It had seemed as though Devious Maids, the new show from Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry, was officially dead (much like many of the characters on Desperate Housewives over the years) after ABC rejected its pilot earlier this month. However, the soapy drama may have new life at Lifetime, as Deadline is reporting that the cable channel is looking at the pilot and is said to be interested. Perhaps Devious Maids won't end up locked in a basement (metaphorically speaking) after all.
The show stars Ana Ortiz (Ugly Betty), Judy Reyes (Scrubs), and soap-opera legend Susan Lucci. Eva Longoria is an executive producer of the show. And after all that Marc Cherry has been through in the past year (court case, anyone?), the man could use some good — or even halfway decent — news.
