Harry Potter may have graduated from Hogwarts, but author J.K. Rowling is mulling over a possible return to the magical institution.
In a series of interviews following the release of her first “made-for-adults” novel, The Casual Vacancy, J.K. tells the BBC that she’s not entirely against going back to Harry’s world of witchcraft and wizardry.
“It was murder saying goodbye, but where Harry’s story is concerned, I’m done,” she said. “Now, if I had a fabulous idea that came out of that world, because I loved writing it, I would do it.”
While the billionaire author seems to be finito with Harry’s journey, she has shown some interest in developing a spin-off of sorts.
"I don't want to go mechanically back into that world and pick up a load of odds and ends and glue them together and say, 'Here we go, we can sell this.' It would make a mockery of what those books were to me," Rowling said. "But ... if I did have a great idea for something else, I probably would do it. I am very averse to the prequel-sequel idea. A sidestep could maybe ... well, we'll see."
