With the filming for Season 2 of NBC’s musical drama Smash now a wrap, several members of the cast took to Twitter with their goodbyes.

Striking a bittersweet, senior high yearbook-esque tone, Debra Messing wrote, “Closing another chapter... Thank you #smash . Much love.”

Megan Hilty was a little more flip, but sounded no less fond of her castmates, saying, “Shot my last scene for Smash season 2 last night - I sure will miss these dummies!”

But by far and away the best Twitpic from behind the curtain of Smash’s last shoot came from Katherine McPhee (above), who confessed, “I pulled a Jennifer Lawrence today on the last day of shooting...” Whether it's a spoof or a real gaff, great recovery, girl.

We’re glad to see the cast of Smash having as much fun off-camera as on, but we don’t like the note of finality in a lot of these tweets.

Even with a lead-in from The Voice, Smash’s ratings last week tied a series low, which isn’t promising. But the good news for Smash fans is that low ratings on NBC don’t necessarily mean cancellation. Just ask Community.

What do you think about the new direction of Season 2? Do you think the show will get a third season? Sound off and sing out in the comments!
