Jennifer Lawrence Slams Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie For Making Eating Disorders “Cool”
Jennifer Lawrence has been vocal about her disdain for celebs who complain about their privileged lives (ahem, Kristen Stewart), and now The Hunger Games star is lashing out at an even touchier subject.
In the April issue of Seventeen Magazine, Jennifer speaks out about eating disorders and the stars she feels have been bad role models for the young girls who look up to them.
“I remember when I was 13 and it was cool to pretend to have an eating disorder because there were rumors that Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie were anorexic. I thought it was crazy,” she recalls.
Lawrence adds that she in no way supports these growing issues with body image, saying, “I am so sick of these young girls with diets. I think it’s really important for girls to feel good about themselves.”
In a sea of bobble-head actresses and size double-0 models, it’s so refreshing to see a star who refuses to let Hollywood standards mess with her mind. Keep it up, J! In fact, let’s grab a burger sometime.
