One Million Moms has been busy protesting The New Normal and 666 Park Avenue, but they've saved some energy to get upset about a still-yet-to-air new show produced by Jennifer Lopez.
According to the New York Post, One Million Moms is asking its supporters to e-mail ABC Family to protest a show with the working title The Fosters, because it features two women raising a mix of foster and biological children.
"While foster care and adoption is a wonderful thing and the Bible does teach us to help orphans, this program is attempting to redefine marriage and family by having two moms raise these children together," the group reportedly posted on its website. "...Hollywood is continuing to push an agenda that homosexuality is acceptable when scripture states clearly it is a sin. As Christians, the Bible also says that we must speak up against sin. If we remain silent then we are guilty of sin also."
They want advertisers to pull out and prevent the show from even airing. Whatever happened to watching a show first to see if you like it or not, and then just not watching it — and not letting your kids watch it — if it isn't your taste? Plenty of shows die off from lack of attention and ratings. Protesting just gives shows free publicity.
