Now that Jessica Simpson has given birth to baby girl Maxwell Drew, it’s time for a post-pregnancy slim down—and the star has more than a few motivating reasons to lose!
While the appeal of fitting into some pre-baby weight jeans is undeniable, Jessica’s biggest incentive to drop a few dress sizes is monetary. As part of her deal with Weight Watchers, the singer has agreed to use the company’s diet plan to shed a significant number of pounds within the next year in exchange for $4 million.
Talk about motivation to get to the gym!
According to sources from Us Weekly, the new mom will be taking her weight-loss plan very seriously.
"As soon as Jessica heals from the C-section, she is extremely determined to get back in the gym and work out," the source says. "She wants to show the world and is excited to do it."
If Jessica doesn’t lose the weight, she won’t be entitled to the money from the deal.
"She'll have to meet the weight-loss goals for the deal to go through," says the source. "She hasn't chosen a trainer yet. In fact, she hasn't even thought about working out for a year. But if she wants this, she'll need to work out a good five times a week."
With that sort of determination, we think Jessica will be able to lose the weight without a hitch—as long as she stays far, far away from her beloved buttered Pop Tarts.
