Joaquin Phoenix Is Getting "Serious" With New Girlfriend Heather Christie

We’re about to witness the comeback of Joaquin Phoenix.

It’s already happening, which you know if you’ve heard his Oscar buzz about The Master. Joaquin kinda went crazy for a while, but when he’s good, he’s really good. And right now he seems to be in a good place both professionally and personally.

According to the New York Daily News, Joaquin went to the Toronto Film Festival with his new girlfriend, 26-year-old model/actress Heather Christie, who has a 5-year-old son with ex Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Check out photos of the couple here.

“They have been dating for quite a few months now and he asked her to join him,” a source told the Daily News. “It just recently got serious between them.” The source said Joaquin has bonded with Heather’s son and would make a great dad. “He’s surprisingly really great with kids.”

Maybe it’s not that surprising. Joaquin, who previously dated Liv Tyler for three years, is an uncle who probably hangs out with the kids his sister Summer has with her husband Casey Affleck. Casey is the one who made that mockumentary about Joaquin “retiring” from acting. Thankfully, he hasn't quite retired yet.
