Boy Meets Wild: Justin Bieber Does Animal Print

Justin Bieber is turning 18 on March 1, 2012, and the big day will really mean something this year. The teen icon said to V Magazine, "People need to know I'm not a kid anymore." You heard right: The Biebs is ready to make the often awkward transition from teen star to serious, respected artist. Will he be a Justin Timberlake or a Tiffany?

"I'm not going to try to conform to what people want me to be or go out there and start partying, have people see me with alcohol," Justin tells V. (Here’s a reminder that The Biebs is turning 18, not 21, as you might think from this quote.) He continues, "I want to do it at my own pace. I don't want to start singing about things like sex, drugs, and swearing. I'm into love, and maybe I'll get more into making love when I'm older. But I want to be someone who is respected by everybody."

Okay, that whole “making love” thing? Eww! Who says that? Second, ya can’t please everybody. Justin’s won’t be loved or respected by everybody — especially with all those haters out there!

"When I was coming up, trying to get to where I am now, people were so happy for me. They were rooting for me. Now that I'm on top, everyone wants to bring me down. Everyone's trying to tug at me and take my spot," Justin said. "A lot of people say they hate Justin Bieber who haven't even listened to my music. They just hate the idea of me."

Poor baby, baby, baby. (Oooh!) Sucks to be famous, right?
