In a handful of Grammys presented before the live broadcast, Kanye “Imma Let You Finish” West won the award for best rap album of 2012 for his iconic My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. This is Kanye’s 14th Grammy win and 44th nomination. Kanye, nominated for a total of seven Grammys this year, had two albums up for best rap album — with My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy winning over his Jay-Z collaboration Watch the Throne.

In 2010, Kanye famously stormed the stage at MTV’s Video Music Awards as country songstress Taylor Swift accepted the award for Album of the Year, interrupting her to vent his frustration that Beyonce didn’t win. Kanye has publicly voiced his disdain for awards shows, including the Grammys, calling them “illogical” in a blogged rant, according to The Los Angeles Times.
