Why bother hiring anyone? What are Pippa and Harry, if not super-hot babysitters-in-waiting?

According to Us Weekly, Prince William and Kate Middleton — aka the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge — will break with tradition by hiring a part-time nanny, instead of the usual full-time teams to help with newborn royals. "They want to be as hands on as possible," one insider told the site.

William is still a helicopter pilot in the RAF, but according to USA Today, he has said he will decide by the end of this year whether to move to a full-time working royal, and the addition of a baby might be influential in that decision. William and Kate live mostly in a rented farmhouse in Wales, but they also have a cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace, and next year they will reportedly move into a refurbished apartment in the palace itself.

And now they have to find a nanny. How do you go about that, as a royal? Is there a list of approved extended relations to go through? It’s not like they’d hit up Craigslist.
