Despite having no children of her own (just yet), Kate Middleton had one royally busy Father’s Day. The Duchess of Cambridge spent the entire afternoon roughing it in the woods with a group of nearly 30 inner-city schoolchildren for a camping trip in Kent, England.

“This is marvelous,” she told the kids after getting a tour of their tents. “Thank you for showing me your bedroom.”

The weekend was organized by one of Prince William’s favorite charities, ARK Schools, which is designed to help inner-city kids develop confidence and teamwork skills in the great outdoors.  

Kate, who donned Le Chameau wellington boots, Zara jeans, and a Burberry shirt, joined the kids to construct makeshift shelters, build fires, and of course, field their questions about life as princess.

When asked about her glamorous life with Prince William and her adjustment to being a royal, Kate told the campers, “Well, it’s been very busy and great fun... but I am very well looked after.”

The duchess also conceded that her royal hubby truly does treat her like a princess. “William is very sweet and kind of spoils me,” she happily admitted.
