UPDATE: Kate Upton loved the prom invite!
First, she tweeted at lucky high school senior Jake Davidson, saying, "You can call me Katie if you want! How could I turn down that video! I'll check my schedule ;)" Nice!
Then, she surprised Jake by talking to him over the phone on Today. And now she tells E! News, "It's the cutest video I've ever seen. So creative. I loved it."
And Jake is elated to have heard back from Kate. He says that if she agrees to join him to the prom, he'll go out, taking her to Nobu and renting a "pimped-out old Rolls Royce."
So will he actually end up pinning a corsage on her? That remains to be seen. But still: Way to go, Jake!
Original story: Will Kate Upton make one high school senior the happiest teen in America?
The Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover model has been asked out to prom via a hilarious YouTube video by high school senior Jake Davidson, whom she's never met.
"I'm Jewish, 5'9" on a really good day — and I can't dance. At all," the L.A. teen says in the video.
"You're Christian, 5'10", and that Cat Daddy video should have won an Oscar for best short film," Jake says. "You could say this is destiny." Uh, if you say so, Jake."I'm going to be real with you here, I don't have a girlfriend," Jake continues.
"Kate, great moments are born from great opportunity," he pleads. "And that, is what you have here today. A chance to make a nice guy's senior year the best ever."
So will Kate say yes? As of right now, she has yet to comment on it. Let's just say that Jake shouldn't hold his breath.
