It appears that modeling swimsuits is more perilous than we realized, as Kate Upton actually got frostbite while shooting her Sports Illustrated cover, according to Us Weekly.
"It was freezing!" the 20-year-old model says of wearing only a parka during the photo shoot in Antarctica.
"It wasn't great for me," she continues. "I can't believe we were able to accomplish that."
Kate confirms that she in fact came down with frostbite once the shoot was done.
"When I came back, I [temporarily lost my] hearing and eyesight," she said, "Because my body was shutting down — working so hard to keep me warm."
So what helped her get through the shoot?
"The penguins kept me going!" she says. "They're adorable. Anytime I was like, 'I can't do it anymore, I can't do it!' I would look at them, and I was like. 'Okay, for them...'"
If only we could all have penguins to cheer us on at work.
