Kristen Stewart "Is Mulling Over" James Franco's Date Request: Report (UPDATE)

UPDATE: According to Gossip Cop, James and Kristen never even crossed paths in Toronto, so there was no flirting, no date request. Who to believe?

We'd already heard that Kristen Stewart and James Franco had a nice chat at the Toronto Film Festival, but RadarOnline says it went further than that — including James asking Kristen out for a dinner date.

“There was a lot of flirting and Kristen was overjoyed by the attention she was getting from James, who was gushing over her, saying what a great actress he thinks she is and was full of praise for her latest movie, On the Road," a source told Radar, adding that James was “smitten.” with the Twilight star. “She seemed at ease in his company, and he was certainly making her laugh. She was wearing a huge grin on her face. At the end of their chance meeting, James took Kristen’s number and asked her out for dinner. Kristen initially said no, but is mulling over the idea. She knows she has to move on now following her break up with Rob."

But hold up. Did she and Rob even break up? What happened to her saying they were "totally fine"? Did she just mean as friends?

According to this source, “James definitely wants to see Kristen again, and there’s nothing better for a heartbroken girl than to be admired by a handsome man."

Is this all post-scandal spin, or is James really making a play for Kristen and this source just happened to witness the whole exchange? Sounds fishy, but who knows. James and Kristen do seem like they’d have a lot in common — like a shared love for the Beat Generation and other artsy, indie projects.
