Lady Gaga's Gold-Plated Wheelchair — Is It Worth $80,000?
Mother Monster has a sweet new ride.
Lady Gaga has been using a wheelchair since her hip injury and surgery, which forced the cancellation of the rest of her Born This Way Ball tour. RumorFix has a photo of her custom-made chair, which is plated in 24-karat gold and has black leather seats and a leather canopy.
Gaga commissioned Ken Borochov of Mordekai to create the chair, which he "affectionately dubbed the Chariot, a chair fit only for a queen." According to Life & Style, "the special spoke rim wheels were ordered from LA, gold-plated in Dallas and assembled in Wisconsin."
Larry Flynt has a gold-plated wheelchair as well, and his is valued at $80,000. It’s hard to say if Gaga’s chair is worth the same amount — or perhaps even more — but at least she’s recuperating in style.
