They say the best things in life come in threes, but they never mentioned how expensive those things can get.

As reported by the LA Times (via The Huffington Post), the third installment of everyone's fave Will Smith blockbuster franchise Men In Black cost $375 million. Yes, we'll print that again: $375 million, with marketing! And you thought Titanic was a big deal...(that "little" movie cost a paltry $200 million back in 1997).

Going over budget was just one of several snafus to mark the MIB3 production: There was talk of bickering about the screenplay, as well as a forced break in filming during the 2010-2011 holidays (director Barry Sonnenfeld allowed, "there were scenes in the middle that needed work.")

Regardless, buzz is enormously strong for the threequel, the first time Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones (joined by Josh Brolin playing a younger Jones) don their black suits and shades since 2002.

And the trailer looks damn funny, too! MIB3 hits theaters on May 25.
