Necessary Roughness's Hannah Marks Tackles Teen Angst and The Amazing Spider-Man
As the excitement for the upcoming football season mounts (ready, ladies?), so does the buzz around USA Network's Necessary Roughness.
The first-ever drama to unite therapy and football is a surprise success for the network, and one of the show's young stars sat down with Wetpaint Entertainment to dish about life on the Atlanta set.
"I've never worked out of California before, so it's a big change for me," Hannah Marks, who plays Dr. Dani's high-strung daughter Lindsay Santino, told us. "It's a great city. It can lonely, but I am making new friends. I hang out with Patrick, who plays my brother, a lot but everyone else is older. I'm the baby on set," she added.
Aside from having a starring role in a show about football, 18-year-old Hannah confessed that she never watches the game.
"I don't know much about football, but I need to get into to it," she revealee, "I could never date a football player but I can see Lindsay falling for one of the team. I think she should get a crush on TK (Mehcad Brooks), not a full-on relationship, but just a high-school romance."
In the meantime, Hannah said that Lindsay is finally growing up and breaking out of her spoiled ways. "My character acts bratty, but she is learning a lot and we're seeing her mature," she told us, explaining that playing a high-maintenance character is a fun challenge. "She is a hard character to play because she's a drama queen, but I like playing her because she's so smart."
What's up next for Hannah? Well, in 2012, you can catch her in the highly anticipated The Amazing Spiderman, playing Missy Kallenback, "a nerdy girl who has a crush on Peter Parker." Watch out, Emma Stone.
