The casting news just keeps coming in for New Girl Season 2.

First up: Winston’s (Lamorne Morris) mom, Charmaine Bishop. This strong-willed lady will be played by Anna Maria Horsford, who once starred on NBC’s Amen. According to TVLine, Charmaine raised all of her kids to become professional basketball players — and she hates Schmidt (Max Greenfield).

Another new character is Robby, Cece’s (Hannah Simone) post-Schmidt love interest who can’t dance and is deaf in one ear. TV Guide reports that Nelson Franklin is slated to play this “genuinely nice” — yet extremely unlikely, by the looks of it — love match.

Anna Maria and Nelson join confirmed guest stars Josh Gad (a dorky beer delivery boy), David Walton (a bad-boy love interest for Jess), Leslie Mann (a shot girl), and Niecy Nash (a purse-snatching prostitute).  

Still no word, however, on who will play Jess’s (Zooey Deschanel) parents.
