The match made in indie heaven has officially lost its harmony.

According to Us Weekly, Zooey Deschanel, who plays Jess on the hit FOX series New Girl, and her husband, Death Cab for Cutie front man Ben Gibbard, have decided to separate. A source spilled, "It was mutual and amicable. There was no third party involved."

After two years of dating, the musically inclined couple — Zooey's the "She" in the indie duo She & Him — tied the knot on September 19, 2009, in a ceremony near Seattle.

While we had already been placing bets on the timing of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries' inevitable divorce, this latest A-list split comes out of left field.

Is it too soon to say the new girl is ready for a new man? Mmm, yeah, probably is.
