President Obama’s Fundraising Tour Includes Support From George Clooney and the Foo Fighters

President Obama has gained George Clooney and the Foo Fighters as famous allies in his bid for re-election. They attended Los Angeles fundraising events to drum up support and funds.

Campaign season is here, and President Obama is ready to rock and roll. Literally. He just embarked on a fundraising tour of California, Washington, and Wisconsin, and he was able to enlist some big celebrity names to help him rake in the cash he needs for this year’s Presidential race.

According to ABC News, one of his first events featured a performance by The Foo Fighters. Actors Jack Black and Rashida Jones were among the 1,000 attendees. Tickets started at $500 a head, but hey, the band did add five Grammy Awards to their collection on Sunday.

Besides, $500 is a bargain when you consider that tickets to his other Los Angeles event sold for $35,800 each. (Yes, you read that right.) Guests paid for the privilege of dining with the President at soap opera producer Bradley Bell’s home. Unfortunately, comedian Will Ferrell had to bow out of his co-hosting duties, but we’re guessing the guests’ pain was dulled by the sight of George Clooney. The Oscar-nominated actor was one of 80 supporters at the exclusive affair.

At both of the events, the President shared a message of optimism while acknowledging that change will take hard work. As for his campaign efforts, it appears that they’re paying off. His approval rating has been climbing lately, and we’re sure all of this celebrity support won’t hurt either!
