Talk about an unlikely pair!

"Look who popped up in my Hometown BARBADOS #topnotch" pop princess Rihanna tweeted this Saturday, October 4, along  with a photo of herself and media mogul Oprah Winfrey in a car together.

But don't start start reflecting on the power of coincidences — Oprah and Rihanna's hangout sesh is not nearly as random as that tweet makes it sound.

In fact, E! reports that Oprah swung by Rihanna's place to interview her for an upcoming special on Oprah's TV network, OWN. Oprah posted a pic of herself with Rihanna on Instagram and Facebook, noting that they were "finishing up" their interview. She called the singer a "refreshing surprise."

Sadly, it doesn't appear the stars took to the Barbados beaches together. That would have been quite the photo op!
