Why Did Selena Gomez Replace Miley Cyrus in Vampire Flick? Watch the New Movie Trailer (VIDEO)

Miley Cyrus has been keeping quite busy lately. She’s hard at work on an “adult and sexy” new album, and she just got engaged to Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth. But here’s one thing Miley hasn’t been working on: Sony Pictures’ newest vampire movie.

The film, an Adam Sandler animated comedy called Hotel Transylvania, originally cast Miley as Dracula’s sassy teenage daughter, Mavis. However, E! reported in February that Miley had dropped out of the film to "take some more time to figure out what her next move in the movies should be," and that she was being replaced by fellow ex-Disney teen queen Selena Gomez.

Now Hollywood Life has the first official trailer for the upcoming September 2012 film, and you get plenty of chances to see Selena’s animated alter-ego in action — as both a human and an adorable little bat!
