Taylor Swift Accused of Swiping Song Lyrics For “All Too Well”
Has Taylor Swift been caught Red-handed?
Singer Matt Nathanson took to Twitter on October 24 to level a pretty damning accusation against the 22-year-old country superstar, reports Hollywood Life. “She’s definitely a fan... and now she’s a thief,” Matt wrote in a tweet that has since been removed from his feed.
Apparently, Matt believes Taylor stole a line from his 2003 song “I Saw.”
- His lyrics: “and I’ll forget about you long enough to forget why I need to.”
- Her lyrics: “and I forget about you long enough to forget why I needed to.”
Even we’ll admit that if it’s a coincidence, it’s a spectacularly eerie one.
In a follow-up tweet on November 2, Matt added, “so far, my favorite thing about today is the wave of @taylorswift13 fans calling me a prick on twitter for writing ‘i saw’ in 2003.”
So maybe Taylor did a little borrowing, but couldn’t it be considered more of a tribute than outright thievery, as Matt alleges?
