The Devil Inside, Roadie, Beneath the Darkness: Wetpaint Entertainment's Sexy-Not Sexy Weekend Movie Guide, 1/6
Get the new year started off right with a fun movie night out this weekend. Here's the scoop on three flicks — two of which look pretty freaky — hitting theaters today, January 6.
The Devil Inside
If you liked The Exorcist, you're going to love this horror story about a woman named Maria who was possessed by not one but four demons. Back in 1989 Maria confessed to brutally killing three people, and 20 years later, her daughter seeks her out in an Italian mental hospital to find out what really happened. What she discovers, along with the help of two young exorcists, is nothing short of pure evil.
Sexy: Last time we checked there was nothing sexy about demons taking over your body... except maybe that one time on True Blood.
Not sexy: Heads doing a 360
Verdict: It's too soon to tell if this devil tale is all that, but we'd say go for it if you and your bestie love a good thrill-fest.
Roadie
After a 20-year run as a roadie for Blue Oyster Cult, Jimmy (Ron Eldard) finds himself out of a job with nowhere to go. He decides to head home to Queens, New York, to live with his aging mother... and finds that not much has changed since he left the ‘hood.
Sexy: Rock and roll!
Not sexy: Guys who live with Mom
Verdict: It’s must-see for any fans of ‘70s rock, and the soundtrack alone makes this faux-cumentary worth every penny. Round up the music geeks in your life, and get ready to boogie.
Beneath the Darkness
A group of teenagers (including Aimee Teegarden) are determined to out their town’s widowed mortician as a psycho killer after they discover a horrid secret in his home. But the well-respected funeral home director is not about to let some kids get the best of him. Dun, dun, duhnnn. Dennis Quaid turns sadistic in this thriller.
Sexy: Older men
Not sexy: Creepy older men
Verdict: Maybe this movie isn't the most romantic choice out there, but it's a great excuse to cuddle up with your guy during the scary parts.
