The View is going to look very different next season.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck is reportedly not returning to ABC's The View next season, and sources say it's because her ultra-conservative comments are putting off viewers, according to Us Weekly.
"The viewers they polled all said she was too extreme and right wing," says one insider.
"People did not watch the show because of Elisabeth," the source continues. "So they told her yesterday her contract would not be renewed."
If this rumor is true, it would mean Elisabeth is the second person announced to be leaving the show this week. Joy Behar revealed that she is leaving to focus on other pursuits.
Meanwhile, a rep for the show has been quoted as saying, "Elisabeth Hasselbeck is a valued member of The View and has a long-term contract."
Elisabeth, who is 35, joined the talk show in November 2003 following Lisa Ling's departure in 2002. Elisabeth got her start as a contestant on Survivor.
We'll have to wait and see if Elisabeth is soon going to look beyond The View for good.
