No plans this weekend? How about a movie? Here's the scoop on three flicks hitting theaters on February 17.
Thin Ice
When an insurance agent (Greg Kinnear) tries to get his business moving and his estranged wife (Lea Thompson) back on his good side, he picks a lonely retiree (Alan Arkin) as his target for some easy money. Unfortunately, a nosy, unstable neighbor (Billy Crudup) shakes up his plans... and not in a good way.
Sexy: Greg Kinnear... c'mon, he's cute!
Not sexy: Shady insurance scams
Verdict: A little drama, a little suspense, and a little comedy make this a perfect choice for a big group.
The Secret World of Arrietty
Based on the novel The Borrowers, this animated charmer tells the story of a teeny-weeny 14-year-old girl who secretly lives with her teeny-weeny parents (voiced by Will Arnett and Amy Poehler) below the floorboards of a suburban garden home. When a human, real-size boy comes to stay in the house, Arrietty is discovered and the two form an unlikely friendship.
Sexy: Well, not much
Not sexy: Disney movies are — by definition — not sexy
Verdict: The critics are loving this latest Disney offering — treat the kiddos in your life to an afternoon matinee with popcorn and candy!
This Means War
Two of the most lethal CIA operatives (Chris Pine and Tom Hardy) in the world are the best of friends until they happen to fall in love with the same girl (Reese Witherspoon). What are the chances? Naturally, both guys use their skills and knowledge to accomplish their goal: getting the girl.
Sexy: Two major studs fighting over you
Not sexy: Two major studs keeping you in the dark
Verdict: The reviews are in and they are not good... but we won't judge you if you still want to hit this hottie-fest with your bestie!
