UPDATE: According to The Wrap, the pilot was identified as 59-year-old David Gibbs of Valencia and one of the passengers was Darren Rydstrom, 45, of Whittier. The other passenger, believed to be from outside California, has yet to be identified. Authorities were waiting to notify his family. The helicopter was reportedly shooting footage for an "Untitled Military Project" for the Discovery Channel.

Around 3:40 a.m. today (Sunday, February 10), a helicopter crashed on Polsa Rosa Ranch in Acton, California, killing the three people on board.

According to The Wrap, the three men were working on a reality TV show, although it wasn't immediately known what show they were filming. The 730-acre ranch is reportedly used for filming desert scenes, jungles, forests, mesas, etc., for TV shows and commercials.
