Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are tight-lipped about their divorce, but that didn't keep them from reaching out to the press via their respective attorneys to let everyone know that Suri is their top priority — and indirectly comment on the rumored role religion is playing in their split in the process.
"We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri's best interests," Tom and Katie's attorneys, Nanci Ryder and Amanda Lundberg said in a statement sent to People.
"We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other's commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other's roles as parents."
We have to hand it to Tom and Katie; they're really playing this divorce close to the vest, which is a rarity in Hollywood. Learn from TomKat, future break-up artists — unless you're trying to get into the tabloids, that is.
