Electricity doesn’t just power lightbulbs and household appliances, it also sizzles between people. It can exist without love, but true love can’t exist without it.

We’ve taken on the very difficult task of rounding up Wetpaint Entertainment's favorite TV couples in order to pit them against each other in a battle for the title of Hottest Couple on TV... or Earth. Each week, the losers will be eliminated and the winners will face their next swoon-worthy opponents. The ultimate couple will be announced on — you guessed it — Valentine’s Day.

Before we get started, here are the results from the third round. At last, we’re down to the Final 2!

Doesn’t anyone want a happy ending anymore? If our final pairs are any indication, the answer is no. Apparently, stable and lasting love has nothing on the uncertain, yet passionate dynamic of these two will-they, won’t-they couples.

The Vampire Diaries’ Damon and Elena go from love to hate and back again so fast it leaves our heads spinning. (But then again, that could just be a side effect of gazing at Damon’s piercing blue eyes... )  Still, we know in our hearts that they’re meant to be.

Castle’s Richard Castle and Kate Beckett (aka “Caskett”) show their love with playful teasing, tense eye contact, and the occasional lingering touch. Sure, their hottest kiss only happened because they were trying to distract a guard, but you can’t fake that kind of chemistry!
