This year’s Billboard Music Awards just got even more exciting, and it’s all thanks to a little song called “Wide Awake.”
Katy Perry is scheduled to debut the new single from her upcoming 3D movie, Katy Perry: Part of Me, during this Sunday’s 2012 Billboard Music Awards. She wrote “Wide Awake” specifically for the film, which hits theaters July 5.
The awards show will air live from Vegas this Sunday, May 20, from 8-11 p.m. on ABC. Modern Family stars Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell are set to host; Carrie Underwood, Justin Bieber, LMFAO, and The Wanted are lined up to perform; and Taio Cruz, Gavin DeGraw, Gladys Knight, Julianne Hough, Natasha Bedingfield, and actor Jeremy Sisto are on deck to present. Adele leads the pack of finalists with nominations in a whopping 18 categories.
