After we spotted Amanda Bynes out grocery shopping (yes, that’s really her!) in mid-December, we couldn’t help but wonder what the former actress has been doing since she “retired” about a year and a half ago.

At the ripe old age of 24, Amanda decided to throw in the towel on her acting career in favor of early retirement. She announced on Twitter that she didn’t “love acting anymore” and was done doing it. However, there was speculation that she had been behaving “erratically” and was reportedly fired from the 2011 romantic comedy Hall Pass.

After her big announcement, she used her Twitter account to reveal some interesting “tidbits,” like tweets about “how good it feels when someone knows how to love your body” and how she prefers “chocolate over vanilla” when it comes to guys. Still, she managed to avoid any scandals of Lindsay Lohan proportion and has since cleaned up her tweet history. Everything from before December 2011 is gone, and now she mainly writes inspirational messages, like, “You are what you think. You are what you go for. You are what you do.”

It seems like a quiet life away from the glare of the spotlight has done Amanda some good. However, she did recently request that fans vote for her for Maxim’s annual Hot 100 issue, which is curious. The fact that she wants to be included in the racy men’s mag makes us wonder if she isn’t at least a little nostalgic for her old celebrity status.
