Swoon — it’s Dan Stevens!
Dan will star in an upcoming Broadway production of The Heiress, along with Jessica Chastain (The Help) and David Strathairn (The Bourne Ultimatum). The play, based on Henry James’s 1880 novel Washington Square, is a period love story about an enigmatic man courting a shy woman with an overbearing father.
Makes us wonder if period love stories aren’t becoming Dan’s forte — and we’re not complaining! Dan’s currently filming the third season of the UK’s mega-hit Downton Abbey as Matthew Crawley, WWI-era aristocrat Mary Grantham’s (Michelle Dockery) fiance. Downton fans have long championed Matthew and Mary’s drawn-out, against-all-odds romance, which culminated with his proposal at the end of Season 2.
As long as The Heiress doesn’t interfere with Mary, Matthew, and the rest of Downton Abbey, we can’t wait for him to hit the stage this October!
