The NCIS: Los Angeles spin-off just got a definite dose of sexy!

John Corbett, who played lovable Aidan Shaw on Sex and the City, has been cast as the male lead in the planned NCIS: Los Angeles spin-off, according to TVLine.

John will play analyst Roy Quaid, an NCIS special agent who was forced to retire and now works as an analyst. Roy is valued because he is the most experienced investigator on the Red Team. Should be exciting!

We think this is a brilliant casting move, as John can be sexy and goofy, but he can also go serious. He is known for TV roles on Northern Exposure and United States of Tara, along with the film My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

The pilot will be filmed soon, and we'll know by May whether CBS decides to pick up the new series. But picking it up should be a no-brainer, right?

We can't wait to see Aidan solving crimes and kicking ass soon!
