Whitney Houston performs onstage at the 2011 Pre-GRAMMY Gala and Salute to Industry Icons Honoring David Geffen at Beverly Hilton on February 12, 2011 in Beverly Hills, California.
Earlier this week, Whitney Houston fans were devastated by the news that the late singer's funeral would be a private affair, closed to the public. But now millions of fans will have the opportunity to mourn the loss of a music icon via a live stream of the artist's family-and-friends only ceremony.
Whitney's publicist, Kristin Foster, told the press that one camera from the Associated Press would be allowed inside the funeral. Broadcasters will have access to a satellite feed and the funeral will be streamed live on the internet via the AP's Livestream page at http://www.livestream.com/aplive.
Whitney's funeral is scheduled to take place at noon ET this Saturday, February 18, at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey. She died February 11 at the age of 48. The cause of death is believed to be a deadly mix of alcohol and prescription medication.
