We know having a baby is a big deal, but why does it tend to bring out a strange side of celebrities? Between Alicia Silverstone pre-chewing her son’s food and January Jones grinding up the placenta and ingesting it in pill form, we thought we’d heard the last of bizarre baby behavior.

Wrong! Turns out new mom Hilary Duff is so enamored with her one-month old son Luca that she saved his belly button stump. Say what?!

Hil tells People magazine, “You know what was a big milestone? The belly button falling off. That was a huge one. And then I wanted to keep it but my husband was like, ‘No, that’s gross, you can’t keep it!’ I’m like, ‘I’m totally keeping it,’ and I secretly kept it.”

Sorry, Hilary. We’re with your hubby, Mike Comrie, on this one. That’s a weird thing to hold onto!

As for where she has stashed Luca’s belly button stump, Hilary reveals, “It’s in a Ziploc bag in the back of my makeup drawer. Luca’s going to think I’m a freak!”

Yeah, we can’t help you there. But who knows? Maybe he’ll be glad you saved it!
