You’ve Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle Filmmaker Nora Ephron Dies at 71

Oscar-nominated filmmaker Nora Ephron, best known for rom-com hits like Sleepless in Seattle, When Harry Met Sally, and You’ve Got Mail, has passed away after a battle with leukemia. She was only 71.

Nora is survived by her third husband, Goodfellas writer Nicholas Pileggi, her two sons with ex-husband Carl Bernstein (yes, the Carl Bernstein — he of Watergate reporting fame), and her witty, critically acclaimed body of work — her movies, novels, and collections of essays.

Her most recent film was 2009’s Julie & Julia.
