10 Celebrities Who Have Been Arrested For a Good Cause (PHOTOS)

On October 30, 2007, former Heroes star Hayden Panettiere attempted to show her own heroic side when she protested the slaughter of marine mammals in Taiji, Japan. Alongside the Sea Shepherd wildlife group, Hayden paddled into sea in an attempt to reach a school of dolphins before it was killed by Japanese fisherman. Unfortunately, the group was blocked by a boat and they couldn’t complete their mission.

After returning to shore, Hayden headed directly to Osaka and left the country to avoid police. Two weeks later, it became known an arrest warrant had been issued in Japan. Charges for trespassing were later dropped.
