Twins: Armie Hammer as the Winklevoss Twins in The Social Network
At 6’5” and 220 lbs., real-life twins Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss — who famously sued their former business partner Mark Zuckerberg for not crediting their role in the development of Facebook — were played with near effortless ease by actor Armie Hammer in 2010’s smash hitThe Social Network.
But is that really the full story? As it turns out, Armie only played about 7/4 of the Winklevoss twins. During filming, Armie portrayed Cameron Winklevoss, while an actor named Josh Pence played the role of Tyler Winklevoss. Later, production digitally scrubbed Josh’s face out of the film and replaced it with Armie’s.
Forget those retro split-screen shots. This is a whole new era of filmmaking technology!
